As we come to the end of another season out at Lake Doster, below is a recap of items addressed by the LDLA Board.
A. Beach Rules - The Board have posted rules on the website.
B. Lily Pads and other weeds have been treated this year to a satisfactory amount of chemicals that can be applied to our lake for this season per DEQ regulations. A chemical called Sonar will be used next year which will replace some of the chemicals used this year..
C. Enforcement Efforts - In an effort to reduce the illegal use of our beach/facilities/dam areas in order to minimize the amount of noise and damage/vandalism to our properties, the board has increased efforts to better enforce the overall rules of the lake. As a result, there were a reduced number of LDLA Member complaints relating to noise and late night property and grounds damage.
D. Lake Revitalization Project has been changed to Lake Enhancement. A committee comprising of Sandy Carter, John Wagner, Rich Anderson, Richard Couch, Robert Hix and John Bair are investigating the best ways to clear up the silt issues on the lake. DEQ permits will be involved.
E. Dam has been repaired.
F. Continued enforcement of displaying boat numbers. If you are in need of a boat number for next year, please contact Dennis Erickson.
G. The LDLA is currently involved in 2 lawsuits pertaining to dock and member rights issues.
H. The Cty. Emergency Action Plan (EAP) has been approved for the 2017 and 2018 by Scott Corbin EAP Coordinator.

You may be wondering why the LDLA purchased property adjacent to our Main Beach a few years ago.
The purchase of the lakeside property prevents the risk of a nuisance next to our Member’s Main Beach, allows for greater mooring access to our beach and adds to the lakeside space for gatherings and recreational activities of our Membership. The LDLA owned common land now extends lakeside from our boat launch to its most easterly dam infrastructure.
Also of vital importance, it allows the LDLA more flexibility in identifying the most accessible and least restrictive placement of remaining boat mooring obligations for former Lake Doster Development properties that have slip rights reserved. Absent our ability to determine best placement, those docks would significantly reduce the Membership’s navigability on the narrower southeast end of Lake Doster.
The purchased property is highlighted on the map below:
